Great start for the Kids Club.

The Westra kids club was formed in 2008 thanks to funding from Merseyside Police.

CHESTER ZOO
31 Members of the Westra Kids Club enjoyed a day out to Chester Zoo in the Easter school break.
The trip was co funded by Helena Housing, Riverside Housing and Westra. A packed lunch was provided free and the children also enjoyed an ice cream, we were very pleased with the behaviour of the children, and look forward to more trips out.

SUMMER FUN 2009
The Kids Club members enjoyed a fun filled program of activities this Summer, which included arts, crafts and games in the centre and energy releasing madness at Peter street centre. The Kids did a little work on the estate doing litter picks (which usually ended with the pick-up sticks being used as swords) Kids Eh!
And we had quite a few trips out as well, with visits to Rumble Rumble, the family day out to Llandudno and we finished the Summer off with a trip to Acorn Farm. Below are some of the pictures of our Summer Fun.
Unfortunately we are unable to show them all as there are so many, but if any parents would like to see them all, we intend to make an album, and should you wish any copies we can get them for you.

For the Easter trip this year, we went to Knowsley Safari Park.
After the ride through the park (the baboons being the kids favourites) we enjoyed lunch in the cafe, leaving the afternoon free to enjoy the fair with a break for ice cream before boarding the coach for the trip home.

Summer Events 2010

Commiunity gather for the opening.
We celebrated the opening of the community garden which was opened by St Helens Mayor Neil Taylor and his Mayoress Wife Ginny.
The garden will be used mainly by the Kids Club members to grow vegatables and flowers, with a few beds available for the local Brownie troup and residents.
Planting is due to start properly in the Summer school break.
