Once again the estate has been the victim of lead thefts.
The Housing Associations inform us that they are now
replacing lead with a substitute to deter further thefts.
Some private home owners have also been victims, and we would
suggest that you follow the Housing Associations lead and replace
it with a substitute. There could also be properties that have been targeted but have not yet been identified, if you are aware that there is lead on your property could you please check, and if you find any missing report it to the Police and your Housing Association, for private owners, report to the Police.

WESTRA 2010

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

Once again, this year has been a busy one for us. With fundraising raffles and rummage sales, the opening of the Community Garden the introduction of parking restrictions, graffiti & clean up days just to name a few. Although the Community garden is looking a bit sorry for it’s self at the moment, we are looking forward to Spring when we can start the planting program. The Kids Club which runs throughout School holidays is as popular as ever, and although we have lost a few members due to them moving out of the area, we still have 20 plus members registered with us. We also saw the introduction of the five a side football teams which has received good support. As well as the nice things mentioned we have also helped many residents with problems, from Housing related matters to ASB etc.
Looking forward to 2011, we realise that like many other organisations cut backs will be inevitable, especially in the voluntary sector due to government restraints, but we will endeavour to continue with the same level of service we provide for our community. Finally we thank you the residents and also our supporting agencies for your support over the last year, and we wish you all a very Merry Xmas & A Healthy & Prosperous New Year.
