Harvest and Arena announce new name
Harvest Housing Group and Arena Housing have announced that following the merger of the two groups in April 2012 the new parent organisation is to be called Your Housing Group.
The new name comes following a branding process that included extensive consultation with board members, the executive team, staff, residents and stakeholders about what they wanted the new organisation to represent. The independent branding team found a clear set of common values and opinions, with a stand out point being that the organisation is built on people, both staff and residents.
Several creative directions were explored, but one clear path emerged; the merged company is all about you; the people, the members of staff, the residents, the partners and being rooted within the community; it is Your Housing Group.
Brian Cronin, designate Chief Executive of Your Housing Group said; “This process was undertaken as we didn’t want just a ‘name’, we wanted a modern brand that would reflect the new organisation, our people, our aspirations and our core values. The new name incorporates all of our vision and values for the new parent group, and is a great start to an exciting future.”
Kathy Cowell, designate Chairman of Your Housing Group said; “Our business is about people and communities. The new brand embodies this view and our growth through this merger; it is your home, your community, Your Housing Group, and we’re firmly rooted within that vision.”
Harvest Housing Group and Arena Housing announced their decision to merge in October 2011. The new group of 32,000 homes will be officially formed from 2 April 2012.
The new brand was developed by Bird Consultancy, an award winning Public Relations agency based in Manchester.

RESIDENT BOARD
Many of you will have read the “In Touch” magazine about the new resident board. Arena are leading the way in
resident involvement . The resident board is yet another example of how residents can actively become involved with how Arena provide services to their residents. We are pleased to announce that Lynn Arnold (Chair of Westra )was successfully accepted as a board member. Lynn Said “I am very happy that I was chosen, especially as I am the only board member from St Helens. I would also like to encourage other residents who are thinking of becoming more involved. There are many ways to do this, from attending the resident forums or becoming resident inspectors. If anyone would like to have a chat about the various ways they can contribute, then please give me a call at the centre to arrange it.” Information can also be accessed on the Arena web site, just click the Arena link on the right of this page to be directed to the site.
GARDENING UPDATE
We are working with the gardening team on a regular basis to insure that we are receiving a good standard of service. If you have any problems with your area then please let us know so that we can deal with them. In the past grass has not been cut when raining or wet, we have now requested that it should be cut even when wet. This decision was made because due to bad weather the grass was being left for to long without a cut.
You may recall that we had hoped for a revamp of the landscaping and initially a programme of work was set up. This seemed to fall by the wayside with nobody taking a lead, we now hope (with the help of NCO Janet) to see some movement with the project.
